Wedding Bliss: Reception @ St. Joseph Serenity with Idha's Catering

If our wedding church is a default, our reception venue is a different matter because this was something we really have to think twice, thrice, even ten times before finally deciding it was "the place".

I think we spent two to three weekends just to explore the whole vicinity of Valenzuela City for our venue. We were basically looking for these requirements:

1. Air-conditioned - this is a must because our wedding fell during summer time in this humid country. If you have been to the Philippines, you know that humidity in Summertime is something they call "deadly" (e.g. Heat Stroke), so we couldn't afford not to have air conditioned venue.

2. Has rooms that can accommodate our families

3. Inexpensive

4. Near our chosen church 

So, we listed down some famous wedding venues in Valenzuela and we visited each venue to really see and feel if it was the one we were looking for. 
Surprisingly, St. Joseph was the first one on our list and I immediately fell in love with the place. It wasn't a "hotel" per se but more of a retreat house. However, it is slowly becoming a popular place for wedding reception. 

What we love about the place:
1. It has this classic, formal vibe to the place. Not extravaggant, not over the top, just the right amount of classic simplicity.
2. It has huge rooms that can accommodate both of our families. One room also has a veranda that can be used as a bride's room.
3. They have a beautiful garden that can be used for photo opp.
4. Near our chosen church although this place is already in Bulacan Area

Miss G., the caretaker of the place, allowed us to have a pencil booking so we can still think through if we were really going to have the reception in that place. After going to different events places, we decided that St. Joseph Serenity was really "the place" . I decided not to include their rate because as we all know, rates don't last forever. They also have a facebook page where you can message them about your inquiries.

Along with the reception venue, we decided to hire their inhouse catering as well because we didn't want to spend additional corkage and we feel Idha's Catering knows the ins and outs of the venue so we wouldn't have to worry about instructing them on what to do about styling and sitting arrangements. 
Our color motif was pink and I decided to use black for contrast color so the pink color will stand out even more. Surprisingly, it turned out so beautiful and elegant.

Everything went well with our transaction with Idha's catering. We didn't encounter any problem at all. Their styling was on point, their food was delicious.

I highly recommend both Idha's Catering and St. Joseph House of Serenity if you are looking for an affordable events place and catering near Valenzuela and Bulacan.

Curly Find: Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess. REVIEW: L.A. Girl Gel Liner

Hello hello hello! Three reviews in three consecutive days? Wow, this girl is on Fa-yah! Okay, let's do this. Honeymoon in Palawan: Wildlife Rescue Center
