Wedding Bliss: Requirements for Marriage in the Philippines

So, you've decided to get married and you booked your first few wedding suppliers. You started ticking off your wedding checklist. Everything is a bliss... until...the boring paperwork.

But of course if you want to get married, you have to make sure it is LEGAL. Right?

So, if you are one of those who are about to tie the knot, let me help you by giving you a list of the legal documents you will be needing.

  • Birth Certificate (PSA Copy) (6 months validity) We got our Birth Certificate at SM North Edsa because it was so convenient to get it there. The only con is that you have to wait for 10 business days before receiving this document. You can get it also in PSA Main Office but let me warn you that it was the worst government office sysyem I have ever experienced so I am not going to recommend you going your PSA copy there. But pro is that you can get it there the same day
  • Certificate of No Marriage(6 months validity) We also obtain this document from SM North Edsa.
  • Baptismal Certificate ( Purpose: Marriage) -  We have to go to the church where we were baptized to get this document.
  • Confirmation Certificate - Couples must undergo confirmation before getting married. Good thing my fiance and I already had our confirmation few years before our wedding (in the same church where we got married) so the secretary just printed our certificate.
  • Dulog/ Canonical Interview - This is a one on one interview with a priest. This will ensure that the couple know every aspect of the sacrament of marriage and they know what they are getting into.
  • PreCana Seminar - This is a seminar conducted by the church to educate soon-to-be-married couples about the sacrament of marriage.
  • Marriage License (3 months validity) - This can be acquired in your own Municipal's Office (Mayor's Office). Here's the list of the things you need to accomplish before acquiring a Marriage License.
  • Marriage Banns -  This is like old-time announcement about the couple's plan to get married should any one will not be in favor of it. Photos of the couple will be placed in all churches near the church where they live. (We didn't have this one so I am not really sure about this.)
  • List of Principal Sponsors (Copy of Invitation)
So, I am hoping this will help you in your wedding planning. Just a reminder to be mindful of the validity of the documents. Some only last for 3 months so don't do this too early before your wedding day. Also, do not do this too late so you will avoid cramming. The worst thing you want to do is to not have marriage contract just cause you have incomplete requirements.

If you have any question, feel free to write in the comment section and I will be very happy to answer them.

Till my next post,
Love,

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest ...

Treats for My Skin Courtesy of Gluta

This is a long and overdue post about the free facial and diamond peel given by the lovely people of Gluta. I am not the one to get facials because I am not comfortable getting under someone else's hands. (This is the reason why I keep on coming back to the same hairstylist). But this is free so might as well try it. (Who doesn't want free stuff anyway?) The event happened last month at Gluta booth, Robinsons Manila. This is part of the launch of their Gluta White and Firm line, which according to the lady, the first product line that was able to produce all whitening products in just one launch (facial wash, lotion, soap, moisturizer, etc.) Gluta Advance White and Firm Products Now back to the facial, they first remove my makeup with a cleanser, then they further cleaned my whole face with another cleanser. Then, they also used a vacuum to further remove deep-seated dirt from my face. That vacuum felt like some kid was giving me little kisses. It did not hur...

Wedding Bliss: The Importance of Wedding Coordinator (Quintessence Philippines)

I am quite surprised that even after being married for almost a year now, I still get a ton of queries regarding wedding details and such. One common question I get is this: "Do I really need a wedding day coordinator?". My answer is always, always this big YES. Well, based on my experience, you can get away without an over-all full wedding coordinator because you can do the planning alone. However- and very important, I must say, that you get an on-the-day-coordinator . And please do get a legit one, not your friends or family, but a professional wedding coor. (Your friends want to enjoy the moment, too, so please don't give them yet another job to do. They can assist you in little things, but please leave everything to a legit coor.) Some reasons why I think a professional on-the-day wedding coordinator is a must: 1. Stress-free wedding.  The least I wanted to be during my wedding is to be the stressed-bride. I have been to weddings without coordinators and I tell...

Revlon Stormy Pink

This is gonna be short and sweet just to make up for a long blogging hiatus. I don’t have much luck when it comes to pink lipstick. It’s either wrong shade or wrong formula. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink is no exemption. A friend gave this to me and the color was love at first sight. It was purple-ish, Barbie-like pink tone. But then, after getting a bit tanner because of summer, it ain't BFF with my morena skin tone. Wearing this makes me feel like Nikki Minaj (Boom boorooom boom base!!!). But I think, this is perfect for girls who have pale skin or fairer skin . The formula is just so off. It’s sticky, but not pigmented, and it keeps on sliding on my lips as if I am using a cheap brand lipstick. (To tell you honestly, I am not considering Revlon as a drugstore brand because  it is a bit pricey here in the Philippines.) It has a matte formula so for all you glossy-haters out there, this one's for you. As for me, matte lipsticks are too dr...

Wedding Bliss: Anne Grace Lu, The Professional Makeup Artist

How can I not mention one of the first few suppliers that I booked, my wedding makeup artist, Miss Anne Grace Lu. She's been on my radar since 2013 (or something) when she did my makeup on my friend's wedding. I was the maid of honor back then and I really loved how she did my makeup so I didn't forget about her. Every time people will ask me if I know someone who can do wedding makeup, I would always refer Miss Anne because I know she can deliver. I really believe in her ability and of course I would not refer someone who will ruin me. Miss Anne, in return, never disappoint. Her clients would always love how she do makeup. Come my wedding and of course, lalayo pa ba ako? I booked her and I was so happy she will always be part of my happiest day. Here are the reasons why I chose Miss Anne: 1. Natural makeup I think what I liked most about her is her ability to enhance the client's face without overdoing it. It looked natural and not over the top. It di...

NOTD: Bride and Bridesmaids

This post will be photo heavy so beware. Anyways, been wanting to try out some nail stickers but I am not really sure why I haven't had the chance to actually buy and put them on my nails.  However, a visit to a craft store led me to find these cute flowers so I thought of giving these stickers a try. I like them actually. What do you think? These nails remind me of my brother's wedding which I actually attended as the maid of honor... I am the girl next to the bride... and as the wedding singer as well... Me and my Marvellous Man So, here's my nails again for your viewing pleasure. That's all for now. I promise to tell you more next time. Bye!

Guess who's back?

Hello blogsphere! How you doin?! Wow! It feels good to finally be back after a looong hiatus. I admit I miss creating paragraphs for this blog and I am just happy to finally touch my keyboard and write again. I know I should be doing a run down of my 2016 but to be honest, 2016 is the worst year of my life, I hated it so much that I just wanted to bid goodbye and move on to 2017. I will not go on with the details but my 2016 is filled with disappointments, loneliness, heartbreak, illness, and even death of a loved-one. I experienced major problems far from my maturity level that I feel like going back to beauty blogging is least of my interests. But then as I slowly recover and move forward, I realized how much I missed writing and doing beauty-related stuff. Blogging is one hobby that makes me happy and I think that we should always do what makes us happy no matter how hard life can be. So, here I am again making a comeback and I plan to do some revamping on this blog. After all...
