Honeymoon in Palawan: EL NIDO TOUR C

El Nido: Tour C (Travel Date: April 22, 2018)

It was our second day in El Nido (Read our first day here) but we woke up too early for our tour, so we went to beach front first to enjoy the beautiful morning sun. I have always loved mornings at the beach, and I loved it even more now because of El Nido. "It's gonna be a marvellous day," I said to myself. Indeed it was marvellous much.

This is one of the several posts I made about our Trip to Palawan. Here are the links to other posts for your convenience:

EL NIDO TOUR C

Still hungover from our Tour A, we head on to Tour C on our second day at El Nido.

I haven't said this before but I think I enjoyed Tour C more than Tour A. The amazing islands included in the tour were just too mesmerizing including Secret Beach, Hidden Beach, Star Beach, Helicopter Island, and Matinloc Shrine. If I would suggest one tour amongst all the other tours in El Nido, I would say do not skip Tour C ever.

Also, I think I enjoyed it more because in our boat, we met this group of Filipino barkada with a couple of foreigners (whom they also met along the way.) Most of them were locals in Palawan, and they were such a friendly, jolly bunch and since most of them are Filipinos, we clicked right away.

They brought a basket full of green mangoes with bagoong in our boat. #VeryFilipino

During our lunch, I tell you, there was a time there when I was sitting in the sand, having a little rest from all the island hopping that we did, and I was just admiring the whole scenery. I couldn't believe how majestic the place was. I remembered when Astronaut Howard from Big Bang Theory was asked "How's space?" and he said, "Beautiful, beautiful, same old same old." - That's how I felt on our second day. I started to become more immersed into the beauty that is El Nido, that it felt like...-. Like when people asked me "How's El Nido?" and the only answer I can give is "Beautiful, beautiful, same old, same old.". You see, there's no way you can say the place was ugly- or even mediocre. Nope. The place was so grandeur. It's almost paradise. You can be at ease with it, be used to it, sometimes you don't notice it anymore because you've seen it quite often enough, but still beautiful.

This is us during our lunch break. Such a nice feeling to meet new people during travels. We still keep in touch up to this date.

Our hearty tropical meal composed of fresh seafood, fruits, rice, roasted pork, etc. Empacho was on the way, but who cares?

At the end of the tour, hubby and I were too drained and exhausted, given that the last two days were spent in travels and island hopping. Also, we needed to head back to Puerto Princesa for our Underground River Tour. Still, I felt sad thinking it was our last day in El Nido. Our body may be tired from all the kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, and other beach activities that we did, but my heart was full with all the memories El Nido has given me.

Before we went back to Puerto Princesa, I whispered to El Nido a little thank you for allowing me to see her beauty. For once, I thought she was just a dream, a fantasy. But I was so thankful fate brought me to see her. I guess dreams really do come true. You see, I just got married to this beautiful man, we had a wonderful wedding, and then we were able to have our honeymoon in an amazing island called El Nido.  Just like the song said "Almost paradise, how could we ask for more?"

But I did ask for more-- that in time, if fate permits again, I wish to go back. Hopefully. And I know I will go back. Someday.

(Next post will be about our Puerto Princesa Tour)

See you in a bit,
Love

TURNING PAGES: Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

When I was in kindergarten, I had a hard time understanding Math specifically the lesson in  “greater than- less than-equal to” equations. My mother, being a teacher, helped me understand the lesson by using analogy . In a manner of storytelling, she told me that the sign corresponding greater than/less than/equal to is  Pacman  (the famous computer game back then), while the numbers in the equation represent the amount of apples . She told me I have to point Pacman’s mouth to the larger amount so he can eat more apples. I never failed at greater than/less than/equal to lesson ever again. It is composed of analogies and stories that helped me understand the wisdom behind success. It will not tell you what to do, it will ask you to analyze the roots of success and what lies behind the equation

Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. That was basically the reason why I had my hair rebonded. I did not know what to do with my curls. I did not know how to maximize my curls, its beauty, how to style it, how to play with it. And also- hair entails personality. You see, living in this country,

Review: In2it Waterproof Single Blush in Charm

This post is dedicated to my boyfriend's sister who loves to rave about in2it products. She loves the brand so much she's literally into it. (Can I get an A for that intro?) Anyways, one of the things I noticed about her is the beautiful shine she has on her cheeks - not greasy type of shine - but a lovely flash of highlight. So, I thought of trying out in2it's blush for the first time. When I went there, most of their blushes were sold out. The sales assistant said their blushes are their best sellers- no doubt about it. So, I asked her what shade can she recommend for my skin tone and she confidently suggested the shade "Charm." I tried out some of their blushes, pink ones in general, but Charm really stood out for me. The sales assistant was right, Charm definitely suites me better. In2it Waterproof Single Blush in Charm is a peach blush with gold shimmers. I, for one, am afraid of shimmers because my face tends to become very oily and to add more shi

Inspired by Mona Lisa Smile: Christian Dior Rouge Dolce Vita 014

Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful. My first lipstick is a red one and up until now, even if I have other shades of lipsticks, red will always be on my stash. So, today, I thought of highlighting the most precious red lipstick I own, my precious baby,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014. Timeless as it is, the inspiration for today's lipstick is the movie The Mona Lisa Smile which is set in 1950's. Just like the girls in the movie,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014 is not in-your-face retro red lipstick because it has a slight hint of orange. Source "That's a snapshot"- Mona Lisa Smile It has a semi-matte finish but very creamy, it glides smoothly on the lips when applied. This is not for the faint heart because it is too striking and

Curly Find: Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess. For the past few months, I've been experimenting on different hair products, mixing and jumbling all sorts of creams, mousse, gels, etc etc. Product after product, layers after layers.  I honestly sometimes feel like going back to straight hair is way easier and economical, than spending so much money on hair products, but then I do love my current buhahag hairstyle- I feel some sense of uniqueness and personality with this kind of hair- so I think I wold just go on with this journey and just enjoy every part of it. So, today, I thought I would share my experience with this Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse.  This is by far, my favorite mousse cream for my curly hair. Let me tell you some of my opinions regarding this product.  1. SMELL - Oh. Goodness. I love the smell of this one right out of the can. This is the best-

Honeymoon in Palawan: Bakers Hill, Buttterfly Garden, Immaculate Conception Cathedral

So, after two days spent in El Nido Tour A , Tour C , and the ever famous Underground River, we continue our Palawan escapade via our rented motorcycle. After Mitra's Ranch , we went to Baker's Hill, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, and Butterfly Garden.  This is one of the several posts I made about our Trip to Palawan. Later did I know that it is actually a theme park with bakery inside.  BUTTERFLY GARDEN One of my favorite attractions in Puerto Princesa, Butterfly Garden is the home to hundre

Pray for the Philippines

I am not so much of a patriotic kind but the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan led me to care about my country, the Philippines. We weren't directly hit by the storm surge since we are living far from Tacloban City but I felt really involved in this massive tragedy. Days before Yolanda came, different warnings were announced regarding the typhoon. We were told to keep safe. I also remembered listening to different guidelines on how to survive the typhoon. November 8 came, it was a Friday. I've read from social media sites that Yolanda officially entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. There were heavy rains here in Manila but it wasn't too strong to kill a person but I've seen some "personal" videos posted on the Internet on how strong the typhoon was in other parts of the country. I got scared. The next morning, weather in Manila was perfect. It was windy and sunny at the same time. I remembered staying in our terrace and
