Inspired by Mona Lisa Smile: Christian Dior Rouge Dolce Vita 014

Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful. My first lipstick is a red one and up until now, even if I have other shades of lipsticks, red will always be on my stash.

So, today, I thought of highlighting the most precious red lipstick I own, my precious baby, Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014.

Timeless as it is, the inspiration for today's lipstick is the movie The Mona Lisa Smile which is set in 1950's. Just like the girls in the movie, Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014 is not in-your-face retro red lipstick because it has a slight hint of orange.

"That's a snapshot"- Mona Lisa Smile

It has a semi-matte finish but very creamy, it glides smoothly on the lips when applied.

This is not for the faint heart because it is too striking and too pretty to never go unnoticed. Truth is, I always get compliments when I wear this lipstick.

Lasting power is amazing, that is if you take care of your lips once you applied it, and that means no mindless drinking from a cup, no licking the lips, and no kissing. (wink!)

Only thing I hate about this lipstick is that the beautiful golden case is chipping like crazy so better take care of it because mine’s a little messed up now. This is kind of a bummer for such an expensive lipstick. I suggest you buy a lipstick case to prevent the chipping.

All in all, love love love this lipstick. As the song goes, it will always be my baby.

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. Review: In2it Waterproof Single Blush in Charm

This post is dedicated to my boyfriend's sister who loves to rave about in2it products. She loves the brand so much she's literally into it. (Can I get an A for that intro?) Where Have I Been

I can't believe I am here again typing for another blog post. I thought I am so over blogging that I never thought of going back a year later. My last post was 2018 and even then, my posts are not that regular. So why go back? Because when I looked back at what I have posted, I realized blogging has helped me in some way to document my life. I admit I wished I could have posted more. I guess I was so focused on what to write rather than on why I write. This time I want to blog for my own self expression and documentation. Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess.
