Honeymoon in Palawan: Undergound River in Puerto Princesa

Puerto Princesa Underground River (Travel Date: April 23, 2018)

They say people travel to relax and unwind. But the truth is, travelers need to hustle more than ever as to not waste any time when traveling. Just like us, we had been on the move for three consecutive days for our Palawan Honeymoon Trip, going from one point to another without even thinking of stopping.

(This is the first amongst 7 other posts I made about our Trip to Palawan. I inserted the links here for your convenience:)

We had just been to El Nido and done with our Tour A and Tour C, when our agent was texting us and telling us that we should hurry and be on El Nido terminal as soon as possible because the last van to Puerto Princesa will be until 5 o'clock only. It was already 5pm and our boat just docked at the shore. Off we run to our hostel, gathered our things as fast as we can, and hurried to the terminal. We made it still-- kami na lang ang hinihintay-- but at least, we made it.

We had time to rest in our van, though. The travel from El Nido to Puerto Princesa City was 6-7 hours long so we had more time for catching up sleep. It was already around 1am when we arrived at our new lodging place in Puerto Princesa. They welcomed us with warm greetings, and we were more than glad to come to our temporary home.
Our humble abode for a day

But then again, there's no time to rest.
We had to get up as early as 5am because the van that will take us to Underground River will come by 6am. So, after eating some tapsilog for breakfast, we needed to hit the road again.

The travel from our hostel to Underground River jumpoff point took around an hour or two and then from there we needed to ride a boat that will take us to the Underground River Site. From the site, we then rode another boat- a smaller one- that took us on a tour to the Main Underground River Cave.

This is where we waited for the little boat that will take us to the main cave. The background is the entrance of the cave.

There were a lot of tourists when we went there.

I truly wish I could capture just how marvellous the inside of the cave was. But I honestly couldn't do that -- no photo could ever do that-- because the only way to appreciate the cave was to go there yourself. You need to experience the eerie silence of the cave, the swish of the bats, the darkest of all darks, the rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites, the ancient vandals on the wall, all while riding in a slow tiny boat.

With that dramatic disclaimer said, let me now crappy photographs I took inside the cave.  Mind you, it was so dark inside and camera flash wasn't allowed inside to avoid disturbing the bats living inside the cave. The only light you will see inside was the flash light coming from the tourist guide.

After the tour, we had lunch at the buffet located at the port and then we went straight home.

Next post will be about our Puerto Princesa City Tour.

See you in a bit,
Love,

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest ...

On Self-Acceptance

It was late September when I started "Marvellous Much." For two months, I labored myself from taking photos to writing to editing and then publishing. I took this as my own, my baby, my little sanctuary. Although I've done several blogs before, this is the first time I have ever done a blog that is somehow commercial and is focusing on a certain niche. I aim to create a professional blog on this one, something that I can give to the world. Every now and then, before I click the "publish" button, I would see myself stepping back and forth. I know I doubt myself so much. I always see myself as not good enough. Every time I would go public, things scream unto my head - words such as "what will they think of my work?" "Is this great?" "Will the people like it?" I hate this thing about myself. When you lack confidence, you lack strength. I hate myself for this. I hate that I sometimes hate myself. However, for the past two months, wi...

Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. That was basically the reason why I had my hair rebonded. I did not know what to do with my curls. I did not know how to maximize my curls, its beauty, how to style it, how to play with it. And also- hair entails personality. You see, living in this country,...

BDJ FAIR 2015

This is my third time to go to this yearly event hosted by BDJ. First time, I went with a friend (Well, hello Ghem!). The next one, boyfie was with me. This time, I decided to just go by myself . I tried to maximize the event so I spent the whole afternoon going from one booth to another. I also pre-registered to two talks/seminars to get an insight or two. If you haven't heard of them yet, BDJ is a community of empowered bellas. Actually, it all started with a kikay planner- The Belle de jour Power planner. Then a community was formed involving mostly users of planners and  kikay girls alike. As for me, I've been a BDJ planner user for five years. I go to the event (if time allows me to) because this is where I can buy the new and upcoming planner in a much lower price compared to its selling price. I bought my new planner for only 500 pesos as opposed to its original selling price of 580. Also, the event is actually pretty cool. You can go around, win some fu...

Wedding Bliss: Catholic Wedding @ San Juan dela Cruz Parish

June is known to be the wedding month and I think there's a little truth to that because I personally have been to two weddings in this month alone- and it's only June 10 as I type this. I heard it's because June was coined after the Goddess of Love, Juno. So, in lieu of this wedding season, I thought of doing a Wedding Series called Wedding Bliss where I talk about our suppliers when we got married April last year and some other wedding pointers. I will first start with our Wedding Church, which is  San Juan dela Cruz Parish in Valenzuela City. This church is a default choice because this is where me and my husband met (both of us are in music ministry) so if not for this church, I wouldn't have met my husband. Also, serving in this church for almost a decade made it not just a place of worship, but a second home to us, too. All our friends are also parishioners from SJDC, including our Parish Priest, Father Mulong, who is also the presiding priest during our we...

Inspired by Mona Lisa Smile: Christian Dior Rouge Dolce Vita 014

Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful. My first lipstick is a red one and up until now, even if I have other shades of lipsticks, red will always be on my stash. So, today, I thought of highlighting the most precious red lipstick I own, my precious baby,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014. Timeless as it is, the inspiration for today's lipstick is the movie The Mona Lisa Smile which is set in 1950's. Just like the girls in the movie,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014 is not in-your-face retro red lipstick because it has a slight hint of orange. Source "That's a snapshot"- Mona Lisa Smile It has a semi-matte finish but very creamy, it glides smoothly on the lips when applied. This is not for the faint heart because it is too striking and...
