Honeymoon in Palawan: Bakers Hill, Buttterfly Garden, Immaculate Conception Cathedral

So, after two days spent in El Nido Tour A, Tour C, and the ever famous Underground River, we continue our Palawan escapade via our rented motorcycle.

After Mitra's Ranch, we went to Baker's Hill, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, and Butterfly Garden.

This is one of the several posts I made about our Trip to Palawan. Here are the links to other posts for your convenience:

BAKER'S HILL

When we were at Baker's Hill, I was kind of wondering why it's called as such because it looked like a park and not a bakery. Later did I know that it is actually a theme park with bakery inside.

BUTTERFLY GARDEN

One of my favorite attractions in Puerto Princesa, Butterfly Garden is the home to hundreds of butterflies, (hence the name, of course!). Here you can actually hold the butterfly and see their habitat up close. This place is also a home to some bugs, insects, and other reptiles.

I was so thrilled to touch such beautiful butterfly!

I actually don't remember the time a butterfly is in my hand. I think this was the first time-- and it sat on my hand for more than a minute! So cool!

This is the butterflies' food.

Some reptiles

...and bugs.

PALAW'AN TRIBE

Inside the Butterfly Garden, there was a local tribe that you get to see a gist of their culture. You can also have a picture taking with them if you want.
They showed us their habitat; how they hunt for food, their musical instruments, and other forms of their culture.

Huge snake!

You can also have your photo taken with the Palaw'an tribe members.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHEDRAL

Then we went to Immaculate Conception Cathedral and I honestly thought it's as huge as Manila Cathedral. I kind of have an impression that "cathedrals" are these gigantic churches. I guess I was wrong. Or maybe I was deceived by photos I have seen online and I thought it's humongous. Nevertheless, this cathedral may be small but its history is effin huge. This church was built in 1870s and according to Mr. Google, this is where the first mass in Puerto Princesa happened.

Also, I have always been fond of visiting new churches especially old ones like this because I love seeing amazing architectural structures. Plus, there's a superstition belief amongst Catholics that if it's your first time to visit a certain church, whatever you prayed for in that church will be granted.

Another reason why I love going to new churches: Architectural Structures

We lit these candles for our departed love ones.
Also, I thank God for giving us a beautiful wedding and amazing honeymoon trip.
I also asked for our safety on our journey back home.

We then went to other places such as Plaza Cuartel and Palawan Museum, but I am gonna be sharing about them in my next posts.

See you in a bit,
Love,
