Inspired by The Great Gatsby: Golds and Glitz

My brother and I were talking about the film "The Great Gatsby" and it's quite amusing how we both have different views regarding the said movie. I liked the movie a lot, he thinks otherwise. He said the movie is quite mushy for his liking. I really liked the movie because it has shown a glamorous but empty life of a social climber who cannot be satisfied by his present because he is driven by his past and imaginary future.

So today's nail design is inspired by this movie where there's lot of golds and shimmers all throughout the entire movie. Aside from the plot, what I like about the movie is the usage of color to represent the character and the scene. Since this is a movie about money and social statuses, gold and glitters are definitely the best elements to represent The Great Gatsby.

Here's how to do this easy nail design:

1. Use a good base coat to protect your nails. Here, I used Bobbie Base Nail Hardener.
2. Put any gold nail polish as a base color. The perfect gold nail polish I've seen is OMG Nail Polish in Gold Digger.
3. Apply glitter polish to your ring finger and thumb. Bobbie Nail Polish in Solar Burst
4. Put rhinestones in the remaining fingers.
5. Apply your favorite top coat such as Caronia Fast Dry Top Coat to protect your design.

I have nothing much to say about this nail design because I think the title says it all. Gold is such a hard color to work with because one miss and it will surely look tacky. I actually keep on changing this nail design because I cannot find the right combination I am finally satisfied with. After so much tweaking, I am so happy I finally wrap up this gold nail design after putting the right accents such as the glitter polish and silver and red studs.

That's all for you folks.

Have a marvellous day!

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest ...

Jazzy Collections Eyebrow Gel

I was doing a little stroll along beauty section when the sales assistant asked me, "Ma'am, ano pong nilagay niyo sa kilay nio, ang ganda kasi e, sanay na sanay kayo magkilay..." "Maam, what product did you use on your eyebrows? You are really good on doing your brows!"  Truth is, I wasn't always this good with brows. I had my fair share of uneven brows, messy brows, overplucked, bushy, wrong shape, wrong curves. But by having those mistakes, I learned how to perfect my brows, I learned by doing, which I think is one of the most important thing when it comes to make-up. You learn every single time you do it. I still do mistakes from time to time, and I am still improving every single day, but I guess that's just the beauty of make-up. Sometimes, you've created a masterpiece, sometimes, you've created a trash... in that way, you enhance your skills. Okay, did I just became very sentimental about eyebrows? Yes, I did. Anyways,  ...

Curly Find: Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess. For the past few months, I've been experimenting on different hair products, mixing and jumbling all sorts of creams, mousse, gels, etc etc. Product after product, layers after layers.  I honestly sometimes feel like going back to straight hair is way easier and economical, than spending so much money on hair products, but then I do love my current buhahag hairstyle- I feel some sense of uniqueness and personality with this kind of hair- so I think I wold just go on with this journey and just enjoy every part of it. So, today, I thought I would share my experience with this Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse.  This is by far, my favorite mousse cream for my curly hair. Let me tell you some of my opinions regarding this product.  1. SMELL - Oh. Goodness. I love the smell of this one right out of the can. This is...

EOS Lip Balm, Overrated?

I was looking at old photos in my computer and I saw these cute pictures of EOS Lipbalm and I remembered how much I love this product but I shelved it for various reasons. EOS and I had some good times, you know. I enjoyed the days when kissing it feels fruity on my lips. But then, I have slowly fallen out of love from it. It wasn't because it was a horrible product but because it didn't last on me and I think there’s so many lip balms out there that offers better service than just cute packaging and fruity taste.  Let me give you the details of our love story. This product became popular last year because of its cute packaging. So many beauty gurus raved about it but lately, it has been categorized under overrated product list. (Source) It got me into thinking if EOS lip balm is really an overrated product. Why did I shelved this product anyway? I remembered it was a year ago when I got my EOS lip balm in strawberry sorbet. Believe you me, I was so freaki...
