NOTD: Caronia Bonanza Tip

I rarely go to salon to have my nails done professionally because:
a. I love doing my own manicure/pedicure because cleaning my nails is somehow a therapy to me.
b. I don't really like how manicure is being done here in the Philippines where they cut the cuticles and sometimes they even cut the skin until it bleeds.
c. I have this uneasy feeling when someone is using lots of tools on me (as that of a dentist).
d. I had a trauma years ago on my right ring finger and though the whole thing was my fault, I don't want to gamble on nail technicians who have the possibility to redo the horrible scenario
e. I would rather spend the money on a nail polish

But then, one day, I was feeling a little iffy about my nails because:
a. I didn't like the way I shaped them,
b. I didn't like the way I put nail polish, and
c. I didn't like the harsh edge on the side of my nails.

So, I decided to spare myself of uneasiness and went to the nearest Reyes Haircutters Salon and let the nail technician do her job.

Surprise surprise, I loved it!

The nail technician was delicate and she didn't hurt me at all. I liked the shape of my nails, hang nails and hard edges are gone.

Also, I think there's really something heartwarming about being in a salon that makes you feel special and a royalty.

Anyways, these are my nails after my visit to salon for a manicure.
Marvellous much indeed!

The nail technician used Caronia Bonanza Tip on my nails and I was so floored of how amazing the color is. This is not actually my first color choice but the nail technician showed this to me and said this would look good on me. She is definitely right.

Caronia Bonanza Tip is a grayish plum with a hint of dirty mauve. It compliments my skin so well and although this is almost like a gray, it doesn't look dull and mature. It looks so chic actually.

A day after my manicure session, I thought of buying my own Caronia Bonanza Tip to add on to my collection. I fell in love with the color so it's nice to have this shade in my stash. Plus, it is only P29.75 at Landmark, Trinoma so it's not so much to spend on. Caronia is pretty much everywhere so if you want to buy this shade, just go to any pharmacy or beauty stores and you can definitely find it there.

That's it for today. Thanks so much for reading.

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest ...

Revlon Color Lustrous Lip Gloss in Gold Frost

Ever since I started working, I have been wearing lipsticks all the time and neglecting the joys a lipgloss can do. I don't know if it's the age or maybe I have worn a lot of gloss when I was on my teens that I feel lipstick is  for my twenties. But, when I saw Revlon Color Lustrous lipgloss, I cant help but fall in love once again with lip glosses.  Why do I love this gloss? Let me count the ways.. 1. The shade is a beautiful golden nude that has a bit of shimmer, not glitters, that creates a lovely shine to the lips.  2. It glides on smoothly and is not sticky to wear. 3. Opacity is just right, not too opaque, not too sheer.  I got this on sale so the price is way lower than usual, I got this for only P200 (such a steal right?)\The sales assistant told me that Revlon booths placed in the middle of the malls have more sale items compared to counters located inside the department stores. So, if you are looki...

My Birthday Shenanigans : ABS-CBN Tour and ASAP Live

August is my birthday month so instead of doing my usual "Pieces of My Month" series, I decided to make it more special by doing series of posts called "My Birthday Shenanigans." I know that this has been an overdue post as we are already running through "BER" months, but as I have said before, it is better to post late than never. Anyways, one of the major things I did during my birthday was to take a tour around ABS-CBN studio.  ABS-CBN is the largest broadcasting network in the Philippines as far as I know. So, if you are living in the Philippines, there is no way you do not know what ABS-CBN  is. It has produced tons of television shows, entertainers, artists, broadcasters, movies, etc. My brother and my sister-in-law (who was also celebrating her birthday that day) were kind enough to invite me to join them in seeing the "behind the scenes" of TV production.  OUTFIT OF THE DAY: White Blouse Aztec Skirt Black Shoes Messeng...

AT LEAST I CAN STILL SEE: Living Life through Amblyopia

All my life, people thought I am just banlag (squint) or someone who has a scar on her right eye. What some people do not know exactly is that I am almost blind. After thousands of eye tests to different ophthalmologists and optometrists, mine is a rare condition called Amblyopia (also known as lazy eye) coupled with color-blindness. Let us first start with my right eye. If you will look closely into my cornea, it has this white scar that originated by birth. If I will only use my right eye and let my left eye be closed, I will see everything in blur. Because of an inborn scar, there is a small white cast blocking my right eye, I cannot see the details of an image. I only see a vision, a blur, a shape. For example, if there is a calendar in front of me, looking only through my right eye, I would only see a white rectangle with dots and some lines. Imagine watching TV with white sheer cloth in front of your eyes-- that's the perspective of my right eye. God must have pi...

NOTD: Bride and Bridesmaids

This post will be photo heavy so beware. Anyways, been wanting to try out some nail stickers but I am not really sure why I haven't had the chance to actually buy and put them on my nails.  However, a visit to a craft store led me to find these cute flowers so I thought of giving these stickers a try. I like them actually. What do you think? These nails remind me of my brother's wedding which I actually attended as the maid of honor... I am the girl next to the bride... and as the wedding singer as well... Me and my Marvellous Man So, here's my nails again for your viewing pleasure. That's all for now. I promise to tell you more next time. Bye!
