Review: Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Honey Nectar

Hello, marvellous! I'm back with another review and today I am showing you the best pink lipstick I ever had so far. As I recall, my last pink lipstick review was Revlon Stormy pink and it wasn't a good love story. I also remembered buying Nyx Narcissus and it's just plain wrong for my tan skin -  I was screaming Nikki Minaj.

But then, after months of wearing either a nude lipstick (In2it Orange Fizz) or red lipstick (CD Rouge Allure), I am craving for something flashy, girly, and colorful. So, I took on the plunge and went on for my search for the perfect pink shade.

A little walk along SM Beauty Section led me to a new found love for pink lipstick. Let me introduce my new baby love, Maybelline Honey Nectar! This lipstick is Maybelline's Pink Alert collectio and I am really in awe of how pretty this one looks on me.

COLOR:
Maybelline Honey Nectar is straight up bright pink color that is leaning towards feaushia fuchia feachia fuchsia shade. I love that this certain shade doesn't make me look too mature or tanner. The shade is what I like best with this lipstick because it is not shocking, not too light, not too barbie-ish, not too purple-ish. It has the right amount of pink tone that compliments my Filipina skin tone.

PIGMENTATION:
It takes three to four glides before you could actually get the right opacity. Though this maybe a downside, I think it has the right pigmentation as to prevent the bleeding of the lipstick unto the sides of the lips. Also, this has a biy of stickiness when applied so it kind of cling to the lips when applied. Anyhoo, it isnt a big deal because it still has a bit of smoothness so its not a harsh application after all.

LONGEVITY:
Amazing longevity, hands down. Clap clap clap with standing ovation, heart heart heart tururu.
Okay. Pardon the over-reaction but I am really shocked that this lasts on me for more than four hours. I am the worst when it comes to lipsticl because I kind of lick my lips quite a lot and I end up eating all the lipstick I applied. But this lipstick stays on pretty long on my lips.
When first applied, it has this beautiful gloss that creates a sweet pink loo. Then, as the day goes by, it fades into a beautiful matte pink. At the end of the day, it leaves a natural pink tint on the lips. Ain't that amazing? I havent had any Maybelline lipstick like this. The transformation from glossy to matte to tint is just marvelous much.

The swatch below stays on me until the next day. Magic, right?

One swipe of Maybelline Honey Nectar
(I still need to work on doing a swatch of a product, Im not really good at it, sorrry... )

Given that this is really long-lasting, you might need a make-up remover to get rid of the product. As for me, I just let it fade and that's it.

Here's a pre-requisite selfie of mine wearing Maybelline Honey Nectar.

That's it for now, ladies.
Till my next review.Vavavabush!!!

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest ...

Wedding Bliss

June is said to be the wedding season of the year. So, I thought of doing a series called  Wedding Bliss  where I share all things I learned when I planned my wedding last year (April 2018.) In a series of blogposts for the whole month of June, I will talk about my suppliers and my thoughts on them. I will share some insights, dos and donts, and important reminders on wedding planning. I will also put some Do-It-Yourself projects that I did during our wedding. Hope you guys enjoy this series for this wedding season of June. Love,

Jazzy Collections Eyebrow Gel

I was doing a little stroll along beauty section when the sales assistant asked me, "Ma'am, ano pong nilagay niyo sa kilay nio, ang ganda kasi e, sanay na sanay kayo magkilay..." "Maam, what product did you use on your eyebrows? You are really good on doing your brows!"  Truth is, I wasn't always this good with brows. I had my fair share of uneven brows, messy brows, overplucked, bushy, wrong shape, wrong curves. But by having those mistakes, I learned how to perfect my brows, I learned by doing, which I think is one of the most important thing when it comes to make-up. You learn every single time you do it. I still do mistakes from time to time, and I am still improving every single day, but I guess that's just the beauty of make-up. Sometimes, you've created a masterpiece, sometimes, you've created a trash... in that way, you enhance your skills. Okay, did I just became very sentimental about eyebrows? Yes, I did. Anyways,  ...

Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. That was basically the reason why I had my hair rebonded. I did not know what to do with my curls. I did not know how to maximize my curls, its beauty, how to style it, how to play with it. And also- hair entails personality. You see, living in this country,...

Wedding Bliss: Wedding Souvenirs

Today's Wedding Bliss episode will be short and sweet. Just sharing with you our souvenirs during our Wedding. I wanted to give something unique for my principal sponsors and I have been eyeing succulents/cacti during our wedding preps. Good thing, I have a friend who sells cacti and she gave me huge discount for each pot. If you want the same souvenir, you may contact PLANTS ON CUPS on their FB Page . The owner, She, will be happy to rearrange plants according to your preference. This little one is for our wedding guests. We actually wanted something either reusable or edible. Who doesn't like to receive a jar of delicious jam, right? Beerenberg is known to supply 5-star hotels around the metro so we thought this sample size is perfect for our guests to have a taste of fine dining. Also, I think they could reuse the jar for whatever purpose they like. We just attached a little "Thank You Card" for a little bit of presentation. We bought our Beerenberg J...

Curly Find: Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess. For the past few months, I've been experimenting on different hair products, mixing and jumbling all sorts of creams, mousse, gels, etc etc. Product after product, layers after layers.  I honestly sometimes feel like going back to straight hair is way easier and economical, than spending so much money on hair products, but then I do love my current buhahag hairstyle- I feel some sense of uniqueness and personality with this kind of hair- so I think I wold just go on with this journey and just enjoy every part of it. So, today, I thought I would share my experience with this Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse.  This is by far, my favorite mousse cream for my curly hair. Let me tell you some of my opinions regarding this product.  1. SMELL - Oh. Goodness. I love the smell of this one right out of the can. This is...
