Inspired by JLO's Nude Lips: In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz

I have always been on the hunt for a nice nude lipstick that can beautifully mute my pigmented lips. The desire to rummage around for the best neutral lipstick started when I would always see myself being drawn to wearing dark hues of eyeshadows, only to find out I have no nude lipstick to pair it with. I would always end up wearing light pink lipstick which I think is just fine but I wish I could have a neutral colored lipstick so the eyeshadows can pop rather than making the lipstick clash to the eye make-up. Should I say my hunt is always a fail. Sometimes, it’s too pale, too light, a lot of browns, lots of pinks, always a fail. What I really want to have is the kind of lipstick that will definitely erase my lips but won’t make me appear sickly. Arrrgh! Women are such confused beings!
Anyways, this is how nude I want my lipstick to be…

Girl crushing is on!

I always wonder how JLO rock the nude up until I saw I video of youtuber Jenn Im where the girl uses not brown or light brown colored nude. She used a PEACH lipgloss. Wow. That was a surprise. I realized I’ve been doing it all wrong because most of my so-called nudes have pink undertone or brown. I realized that the best color that can mute pigmented asian lips should have orange undertone, more of in the family of peach. So, the search began for a nice peach lipstick that I can translate into my favorite nude lipstick.

Up until one day, JLO…and behold… I found a peach lipstick. Yeah! A muted orange type of lipstick that can live par to JLo’s rocking nude lips… Here it is, my new found baby: In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz

In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz

To give you a detailed review of In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz, here it is:

-     Application is a bit tricky especially if your lips are darker than this color. I realized that the problem is not on the lipstick itself but more on the clash of my natural lip color and the shade of this particular in2it lipstick. The key is to find a good lip brush to blend it well on your lips.

-    If you put the right amount of In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz, this lipstick turns into a lovely hint of peachy-tint. However, if you put too much product, it clumps unto the lips that it can get a little drying and sticky. Putting too much will cause the lipstick to slide off your lips but putting just enough will give a divine peach hue on your lips. This is the reason why most girls think this is a drying lipstick when in fact the key is to just use one swipe and you are good to go.

-   In2it lipsticks cost P375.75 per stash here in the Philippines. It is inexpensive compared to high end brands that can cost around P1000+ but it’s definitely more expensive than local drugstore brands. The price is comparable to Maybelline lipsticks. You can find in2it lipsticks in Watsons, SM Beauty Department, and some Cinderella branches.

-    This color can work well with a dark smokey strong eye make-up but if you are wearing very light to no make up make up, this color can make you look pale. If you want to take a break from dark lipsticks, this can be a breath of fresh air but if you want a hint of color on your lips, this may not be a good choice.

-    I’m obsessed with the classy packaging of this lipstick. I can compare it with the packaging of high end lipsticks that I have like Christian Dior and Chanel. The silver casing is very sturdy and comes with little diamond-like studs and classy art-border. Elegant, definitely.

To give you an idea, here's a photo of yours truly wearing my In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Orange Fizz. Excuse the uber selfie shot.

To summarize:
Color: Lovely and Unique
Formula: Ey Okay, not great but definitely just fine
Staying Power: Longevity is not that amazing because it kind of faded after an hour
Packaging: Lovely, very lovely, classy and elegant
Price: Sold at P375.75 not expensive, not cheap either

All in all, this is a nice neutral color to be in your stash because you can tone it down or even build it up with another lipstick or lip gloss.  As for me, I am happy I got this unique nude lipstick but I might as well say I am still on the look out for a better one.
How about you? What is your nude lipstick scene?

TURNING PAGES: Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

When I was in kindergarten, I had a hard time understanding Math specifically the lesson in  “greater than- less than-equal to” equations. My mother, being a teacher, helped me understand the lesson by using analogy . In a manner of storytelling, she told me that the sign corresponding greater than/less than/equal to is  Pacman  (the famous computer game back then), while the numbers in the equation represent the amount of apples . She told me I have to point Pacman’s mouth to the larger amount so he can eat more apples. I never failed at greater than/less than/equal to lesson ever again. It is composed of analogies and stories that helped me understand the wisdom behind success. It will not tell you what to do, it will ask you to analyze the roots of success and what lies behind the equation

Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. That was basically the reason why I had my hair rebonded. I did not know what to do with my curls. I did not know how to maximize my curls, its beauty, how to style it, how to play with it. And also- hair entails personality. You see, living in this country,

Review: In2it Waterproof Single Blush in Charm

This post is dedicated to my boyfriend's sister who loves to rave about in2it products. She loves the brand so much she's literally into it. (Can I get an A for that intro?) Anyways, one of the things I noticed about her is the beautiful shine she has on her cheeks - not greasy type of shine - but a lovely flash of highlight. So, I thought of trying out in2it's blush for the first time. When I went there, most of their blushes were sold out. The sales assistant said their blushes are their best sellers- no doubt about it. So, I asked her what shade can she recommend for my skin tone and she confidently suggested the shade "Charm." I tried out some of their blushes, pink ones in general, but Charm really stood out for me. The sales assistant was right, Charm definitely suites me better. In2it Waterproof Single Blush in Charm is a peach blush with gold shimmers. I, for one, am afraid of shimmers because my face tends to become very oily and to add more shi

Inspired by Mona Lisa Smile: Christian Dior Rouge Dolce Vita 014

Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful. My first lipstick is a red one and up until now, even if I have other shades of lipsticks, red will always be on my stash. So, today, I thought of highlighting the most precious red lipstick I own, my precious baby,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014. Timeless as it is, the inspiration for today's lipstick is the movie The Mona Lisa Smile which is set in 1950's. Just like the girls in the movie,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014 is not in-your-face retro red lipstick because it has a slight hint of orange. Source "That's a snapshot"- Mona Lisa Smile It has a semi-matte finish but very creamy, it glides smoothly on the lips when applied. This is not for the faint heart because it is too striking and

Curly Find: Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse

Living in a country where straight hair rules, finding a good styling product for the curly hair is such a pain in the ey-ess-ess. For the past few months, I've been experimenting on different hair products, mixing and jumbling all sorts of creams, mousse, gels, etc etc. Product after product, layers after layers.  I honestly sometimes feel like going back to straight hair is way easier and economical, than spending so much money on hair products, but then I do love my current buhahag hairstyle- I feel some sense of uniqueness and personality with this kind of hair- so I think I wold just go on with this journey and just enjoy every part of it. So, today, I thought I would share my experience with this Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse.  This is by far, my favorite mousse cream for my curly hair. Let me tell you some of my opinions regarding this product.  1. SMELL - Oh. Goodness. I love the smell of this one right out of the can. This is the best-

Honeymoon in Palawan: Bakers Hill, Buttterfly Garden, Immaculate Conception Cathedral

So, after two days spent in El Nido Tour A , Tour C , and the ever famous Underground River, we continue our Palawan escapade via our rented motorcycle. After Mitra's Ranch , we went to Baker's Hill, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, and Butterfly Garden.  This is one of the several posts I made about our Trip to Palawan. Later did I know that it is actually a theme park with bakery inside.  BUTTERFLY GARDEN One of my favorite attractions in Puerto Princesa, Butterfly Garden is the home to hundre

Pray for the Philippines

I am not so much of a patriotic kind but the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan led me to care about my country, the Philippines. We weren't directly hit by the storm surge since we are living far from Tacloban City but I felt really involved in this massive tragedy. Days before Yolanda came, different warnings were announced regarding the typhoon. We were told to keep safe. I also remembered listening to different guidelines on how to survive the typhoon. November 8 came, it was a Friday. I've read from social media sites that Yolanda officially entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. There were heavy rains here in Manila but it wasn't too strong to kill a person but I've seen some "personal" videos posted on the Internet on how strong the typhoon was in other parts of the country. I got scared. The next morning, weather in Manila was perfect. It was windy and sunny at the same time. I remembered staying in our terrace and
