Pink is Warm, Red is Hot : Sassy Colors Shade-shifting Nail Polish

Color-changing nail polish has been around for forever and I honestly find the idea corny, but I guess it's really clever. Don't you think? These nail polishes change color once the temperature of your surroundings has changed. It reminds me of mood rings during high school when I was so naive to believe a particular color-changing ring can translate my mood into colors. Anyways, today's nail polish is from Sassy's Shade-shifting Nail Polish line that I bought only because I was drawn by the marketing skills of the sales attendant. Also, I want to try it myself so I can show it here on my blog since I haven't done any nail-related post for months now. This is only P50.00 (equivalent to a dollar) so I guess it's enough for fun-filled nail polish experience.

This shade is called Warm and Sunny and it changes from a sheer light pink color to coral reddish pink. This is what it looks like in different water temperature.

WARM
Room temperature, no water whatsoever, just plain pink nail polish

COLD
Dipped into cold water, it changes immediately to reddish pink color

As you can see, there's really a huge difference with the color once you dip your nails in cold water. First time I saw how it changes from one color to another, I was like "Whoa!!!" and I feel like a child playing with a piece of toy. I run my nails on the faucet over and over again just to see the "color-shifting" effect and I must say it was such a fun to see.

This is what it looks like while it's shifting back from red to light pink.

I love the idea, it was fun, but I removed the polish the day after because I feel like my nails are bleeding as patches of red is juxtaposed to the light pink because of uneven temperature.

I gave this polish to my niece because I don't like the quality. It looks like wax applied on your nails. Plus, I know my niece love this to bits because of its playful effect.

Revlon Stormy Pink

This is gonna be short and sweet just to make up for a long blogging hiatus. I don’t have much luck when it comes to pink lipstick. It’s either wrong shade or wrong formula. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink is no exemption. A friend gave this to me and the color was love at first sight. It was purple-ish, Barbie-like pink tone. But then, after getting a bit tanner because of summer, it ain't BFF with my morena skin tone. Wearing this makes me feel like Nikki Minaj (Boom boorooom boom base!!!). Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful.
