Pink is Warm, Red is Hot : Sassy Colors Shade-shifting Nail Polish

Color-changing nail polish has been around for forever and I honestly find the idea corny, but I guess it's really clever. Don't you think? These nail polishes change color once the temperature of your surroundings has changed. It reminds me of mood rings during high school when I was so naive to believe a particular color-changing ring can translate my mood into colors. Anyways, today's nail polish is from Sassy's Shade-shifting Nail Polish line that I bought only because I was drawn by the marketing skills of the sales attendant. Also, I want to try it myself so I can show it here on my blog since I haven't done any nail-related post for months now. This is only P50.00 (equivalent to a dollar) so I guess it's enough for fun-filled nail polish experience.  This shade is called Warm and Sunny and it changes from a sheer light pink color to coral reddish pink. You Can't Eat Beauty

Cover Girl Brow and Eye Makers in Midnight Brown

My Mama and I have this morning bonding routine that I think is common among mother-daughter tandem. I, being the make-up artist in our home, and she, being the senior gal, use make-up as a tool to connect, which I think is intimate and literally face to face. My usual assignment is to literally draw her eyebrows and sometimes we get a laugh or two whenever I miss the mark. One of the tools that I often use for her eyebrows (and mine as well) is an eyebrow pencil. I know that wax and powders are the best when it comes to filling up the eyebrows but they can be to sheer and time-consuming, so I ought to stick on pencils. My current favorite is the Cover Girl Brow and Eye Makers because it fills the brows naturally and smoothly. Mine is the color midnight brown and it is the perfect shade for my hair color. It has a waxy texture so you may use this as a base if you love to use powder for a more filled eyebrows. It c omes with a sharpener  but I don't think it's any good ...

Marvellous Monday

I know that Mondays are always greeted with a sigh, especially with most business people, because it is the start of a life battle called "workweek." However, today, I would like to change it a bit by starting a gratitude list pertaining to my previous week full of blessings. This is not bragging since last week is far from being perfect, but I promise myself to stay positive no matter what so I am helping myself to see the beauty rather than contemplate on scars. Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. NAIL PARAPHERNALIA: New Things to Try

This might come as a shock but I am a former nail biter. It is pretty ironic that this girl who loves to blog about nails is a former nail biter. Funny right?  Basically, I just realized that the cause of my disgusting habit is my addiction to my nails. So, instead of pricking on my nails, why not turn it into something positive and make my nails pretty instead? Pieces of My Month March

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have just realized that the first quarter of 2014 have passed and I am loving my year so far. There are times when I wish I could have done more but I guess it's better to give myself a pat on the back and celebrate my successes rather than being too harsh on myself. Sometimes, I tend to forget I can only do enough. First week of March, I was able to celebrate Fat Tuesday with my church friends. Fat Tuesday, if you have no idea what it is, is  the day before Ash Wednesday--the start of Lenten season.  Since Fat Tuesday is the day before fasting and abstinence, devout Catholics are having a merry gathering of food and laughter before pursuing a month of sacrifice and soul-searching.   Aside from the beginning of Lenten season, March also marks the start of summer. Jazzy Collections Eyebrow Gel

I was doing a little stroll along beauty section when the sales assistant asked me, "Ma'am, ano pong nilagay niyo sa kilay nio, ang ganda kasi e, sanay na sanay kayo magkilay..." "Maam, what product did you use on your eyebrows? You are really good on doing your brows!"  Truth is, I wasn't always this good with brows. I had my fair share of uneven brows, messy brows, overplucked, bushy, wrong shape, wrong curves. Inspired by Mona Lisa Smile: Christian Dior Rouge Dolce Vita 014

Once a gay friend told me, "Red lipstick is so back then." I immediately replied back and told him a true lady would say otherwise. For a real woman, red lipstick is a timeless weapon to look and feel beautiful. My first lipstick is a red one and up until now, even if I have other shades of lipsticks, red will always be on my stash. So, today, I thought of highlighting the most precious red lipstick I own, my precious baby,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014. Timeless as it is, the inspiration for today's lipstick is the movie The Mona Lisa Smile which is set in 1950's. Just like the girls in the movie,  Christian Dior’s Rouge Dolce Vita in #014 is not in-your-face retro red lipstick because it has a slight hint of orange. NOTD: Bride and Bridesmaids

This post will be photo heavy so beware. Anyways, been wanting to try out some nail stickers but I am not really sure why I haven't had the chance to actually buy and put them on my nails.  However, a visit to a craft store led me to find these cute flowers so I thought of giving these stickers a try. I like them actually. What do you think? These nails remind me of my brother's wedding which I actually attended as the maid of honor...
