NOTD: Mint and Pepper

Few days have passed since the horror of typhoon Yolanda, everyone is slowly regaining the strength in order to rebuild whatever the storm has destroyed. So, I guess this is the best time to post a happy green polish to give some happy vibes to our grieving nation.. green is the color of hope after all. This design reminds me of mint and pepper. What do you think? That would be all for now... short, happy... and yes, hopeful... =)

Inspired by the Glitter Sale

As of this writing, I just came home from a little retail therapy at Trinoma. I went straight to Landmark nail polish section and I saw a lot of girls are piling up in front of a table. Out of curiousity, I checked it out and realized they have this promo: "Free Application for every 100 pesos nail art supply you bought." WOW! That's a good deal I suppose since I am really planning to buy some nail art thingies anyways. Then, I saw two girls who are having their nails done and I must say they really look so pretty so I decided to try it as well. Inspired by a Preggy: LA Colors Palm Tree

LA Colors Palm Tree is dedicated to my current obsession with the color green. I don’t know what’s with this particular shade but every time I would see a color green, I would automatically push the “I like” button. Is it because I have a pregnant friend who loves green so much and she passed it unto me? Did you follow the logic behind that superstition? Well, Filipinos have this belief that a pregnant girl can pass her cravings to someone she’s so fond of like her husband or her close friend. So, sometimes, I really do think, she’s passing her green cravings unto me. I digress. Going back to LA Colors Nail Polish in Palm Tree, this product is a lovely pastel green color with no shimmer whatsoever. Although this color falls under pastel green, it is not as shocking as other pastel colors like violet or blue. Pieces of My Month March

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have just realized that the first quarter of 2014 have passed and I am loving my year so far. There are times when I wish I could have done more but I guess it's better to give myself a pat on the back and celebrate my successes rather than being too harsh on myself. Sometimes, I tend to forget I can only do enough. First week of March, I was able to celebrate Fat Tuesday with my church friends. Fat Tuesday, if you have no idea what it is, is  the day before Ash Wednesday--the start of Lenten season.  Since Fat Tuesday is the day before fasting and abstinence, devout Catholics are having a merry gathering of food and laughter before pursuing a month of sacrifice and soul-searching.   Aside from the beginning of Lenten season, March also marks the start of summer. EOS Lip Balm, Overrated?

I was looking at old photos in my computer and I saw these cute pictures of EOS Lipbalm and I remembered how much I love this product but I shelved it for various reasons. EOS and I had some good times, you know. I enjoyed the days when kissing it feels fruity on my lips. But then, I have slowly fallen out of love from it. It wasn't because it was a horrible product but because it didn't last on me and I think there’s so many lip balms out there that offers better service than just cute packaging and fruity taste.  Let me give you the details of our love story. This product became popular last year because of its cute packaging. So many beauty gurus raved about it but lately, it has been categorized under overrated product list. When I was in kindergarten, I had a hard time understanding Math specifically the lesson in  “greater than- less than-equal to” equations. My mother, being a teacher, helped me understand the lesson by using analogy . In a manner of storytelling, she told me that the sign corresponding greater than/less than/equal to is  Pacman  (the famous computer game back then), while the numbers in the equation represent the amount of apples . She told me I have to point Pacman’s mouth to the larger amount so he can eat more apples. I never failed at greater than/less than/equal to lesson ever again. Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. Pieces of my Month: AUGUST 2015

Last year, I did some kind of a monthly gratitude list wherein I gather all images of important happenings in my life for that certain month. I never get to do that this year so I am planning to do it once more. It has helped me to become more positive in life even though I have been struggling with lots of things and that my life is too far from being perfect. Also, I want to realize that there are certain things I need to be grateful for because sometimes I am not able to see good things happening around me. So in accordance of my "coming back to blogging" thang and because this is also part of my birthmonth celebration, I am listing down some pieces of my August.
