Honeymoon in Palawan: Palawan Museum

Palawan Museum and Plaza Cuartel (Travel Date: April 24, 2018) This is my last post about our honeymoon trip in Palawan. If you haven't read my previous posts, here are the links for your convenience: El Nido Tour A El Nido Tour C Underground River Mitra's Ranch Bakers Hill ,  Butterfly Garden and Tribal Village ,  Immaculate Conception Cathedral Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center Palawan Museum  and  Plaza Cuartel PALAWAN MUSEUM Palawan Museum is a small museum located in the center of Puerto Princesa. It looked like a little government office and if not for the sign "Palawan Museum", we wouldn't have found the place. But even if this museum is a bit small, it has a lot of interesting things to offer, showing a bit of history, not only of Palawan, but of the Philippines as well.  Some artifacts Old tribal version of a backpack Native bags and baskets More bags and baskets Hubby trying to

My PIERCINGS- Accidents, Stories, Reasons.. etc.

Elow elow elow Dear Reader! So, today, I bought new set of earrings and I realized, I haven't really talked about my piercing experience. So, I thought maybe I should answer some common questions about my piercings and piercing in general. How many piercings do you have? As of the moment, I have a total of six individual piercings. Three on the left ear, three on the right. When did you get them and why? 1. The first pair was done when I was four or five years old. I remember my father bringing me to a little health center and telling me to just tilt my head and that was it. I don't have much to say about this piercing because it was like a "default" kind of thing - sort of a tradition or one of those mandatory things a girl has to go through-  so nothing special in this pair. Also, I was too young to remember how it felt like. Too young to even comprehend. But I remember being happy having the privilege to wear such pretty gold earrings. I had the rest

Inspired by the Glitter Sale

As of this writing, I just came home from a little retail therapy at Trinoma. I went straight to Landmark nail polish section and I saw a lot of girls are piling up in front of a table. Out of curiousity, I checked it out and realized they have this promo: "Free Application for every 100 pesos nail art supply you bought." WOW! That's a good deal I suppose since I am really planning to buy some nail art thingies anyways. Then, I saw two girls who are having their nails done and I must say they really look so pretty so I decided to try it as well. "Yes, I have touched glitters in the last 24 hours... but it doesn't mean I'm not strong, or tough and strong..." - Ms. Jessica Day, New Girl I chose turquoise glitters because I saw this girl in the table and her nails are in turquoise so I decided to do the same for my nails. They look so freaking beautiful. The attendant first put OMG Nail Polish in Mojito my nails, then she just simply dip my n

MT. ROMELO, my first hiking experience

Last year, around May of 2015, i joined a group hike (it was my first) and though I experienced horrible physical pain, I feel like sharing it on this blog.  The following paragraph was taken from my journal entry written few days after the climb. It was edited a bit to fit my present view. Climbing Mt. Romelo was one of the hardest travel experiences I've ever done in my entire life. It was the longest two days of my life and it felt like I traveled from the moon and back with my bare foot. I went there on a whim, a single invitation from a friend a day before the start of the journey. I didn't expect the hardship that I was about to encounter. It was the idea of adventure that led me to accept the invite. I admit I was excited, I felt like Bilbo Baggins. We started our climb in the middle of the night, around 8 or 9pm, I suppose. We put on our head lights and off we go. Photo before we ascend the mountain The steps became heavier and heavier as we a

Catrice All-round Concealer - Makeup Forever Corrector Dupe?

I think it has been years since I first heard the word "corrector" in makeup artistry, but I never really feel the need to acquire it since I am fine with the ordinary concealer and foundation, plus I wasn't a makeup artist back then. But since I have finally started to become a freelance makeup artist, I realized I needed to have correctors in my kit since some clients need a little bit of cover up. As a makeup artist, I needed to be prepared with anything. So, when I saw CATRICE ALL AROUND CONCEALER at Watsons, I had this urge to try it. For one, it looks like an inexpensive dupe for Makeup Forever Corrector. It has five shades- one green, one orange, and three neutral concealer shades. Each pan is almost the size of  five peso coin, encased in a sleek transparent hard plastic material. It fits perfectly in my traincase and it saves space too since I don't have to carry a lot of color correctors. Nice packaging. Likes! CATRICE COLOR C

Cover Girl Brow and Eye Makers in Midnight Brown

My Mama and I have this morning bonding routine that I think is common among mother-daughter tandem. I, being the make-up artist in our home, and she, being the senior gal, use make-up as a tool to connect, which I think is intimate and literally face to face. My usual assignment is to literally draw her eyebrows and sometimes we get a laugh or two whenever I miss the mark. One of the tools that I often use for her eyebrows (and mine as well) is an eyebrow pencil. I know that wax and powders are the best when it comes to filling up the eyebrows but they can be to sheer and time-consuming, so I ought to stick on pencils. My current favorite is the Cover Girl Brow and Eye Makers because it fills the brows naturally and smoothly. Mine is the color midnight brown and it is the perfect shade for my hair color. It has a waxy texture so you may use this as a base if you love to use powder for a more filled eyebrows. It c omes with a sharpener  but I don't think it's any good

Kulot Not Salot: My Curly Hair Routine

I'm still surprised when friends won't believe when I tell them my hair is naturally curly and that I never had a digi perm or any curling method done. People have been seeing me with rebonded straight hair for the past 12 years, (I thought it was only 10) and they have kind of believed my hair is naturally straight. And frankly, I, too, have forgotten how I looked like with curly hair. I have to rummage a box of old photos to help me remember how my curls looked like a decade ago and why do I even have it straightened. Was it that bad? After almost an hour of looking for old photos of my natural curls- this I realized to my chagrin - I rarely wore my curly hair down when I was a teenager. That was basically the reason why I had my hair rebonded. I did not know what to do with my curls. I did not know how to maximize my curls, its beauty, how to style it, how to play with it. And also- hair entails personality. You see, living in this country,
